I would – but dont overlook *too* much.
For example – a lick of paint is one thing, it will cover up dampness but wont solve the problem – if you see what I mean.
If all thats wrong is that it just needs a bit of TLC – then sure, go for it!

The house is safe enough for your child then would definitely look into it it it sounds like better deal.

Wouldn’t hurt to look. Think of the bathroom as en suite! You could also slap a bit of paint on the wall. Beware of damp walls and rotting windows though

El tiempo que sea limpio y seguro y no hay problemas de salud tales como el moho, etc entonces que, ¿por qué no?

I live in one of the older cities in the U.S. It is pretty common around here, when you’re renting, to get an old Victorian-era apartment. Some of the features of older places are nice – wood floors, high ceilings, original woodwork. Some are not so nice – busted bathroom tile, cracked plaster, creaky stairs. But this is normal to me. I’d much prefer a larger apartment with a garden than a smaller “newer” place. At least around here, the reasonably priced places that are newer are so ugly anyway – linoleum, industrial carpet, ugly tan walls.
I say go for it. A new paint job can work wonders.

Yes but like the others said dont over look everything outdated decor and paint is one thing but crap falling apart or worse is another, take a look and decide.

sounds okay to live in. Just be careful if it is old and worn out that there isn’t any lead paint peeling.

Everybody’s opinions are different and well i suppose you should look at the house in person first and see what your perspective on it is. Then after that go back on yahoo answers and say what the house looks like and then ask the question again. but then again i don’t really know what your question really is. lol. goodluck on the house though! cheerio…….

you can always live there for couple years and then look for something else once rents have dropped.

Oh gosh, if it’s just a lick of paint or simple stuff then definitely! If there was really loads to do which would take a lot of money I’d have another think, but if it’s just a couple of cans of paint etc then yes!

I would definitely go and look inside and I wouldn’t worry about the bathroom being off of the bedroom, if it’s just the 3 of you then it doesn’t matter anyway. We lived in a flat up until our Daughter was 6 months old and now that summer is approaching as well as her first birthday, I am thrilled to have a garden. So, if the decor really does just need a good clean and some paint here and there, then I would definitely go for it.
2 bedrooms and a garden for not a lot more money, saving on fuel to get to both places of employment and a friend a street away, sounds ideal – get down to B&Q and buy a bulk load of cheap magnolia!

If it is just basically the decor and everything else was fine then I would definitely go for it if it means more room and only £25 more a month but if there was more work needing done I think you would have to consider it carefully obviously you’ll know for yourself though if it is a complete dump.
If it needs alot doing too it then it will obviously end up costing you a lot more than the £25 a month to begin with but what I think you need to be really carefully in is not too do up another person’s property while your out of pocket and they are reaping the benefits as you have made their property more rentable in the future or your family that are tradesmen have saved him money as he does not have to get somebody in to fix any of the maintenance problems.
Im a firmly believer if that anything breaks or plumbing needs doing or anything like that that it is my landlords job to get somebody into fix it and to pay them for it. I pay him enough rent a month and not about to start saving him money and doing up his property for him as well.
But if it is a lick of paint and thats all then the advantages of having a bigger place will by far overlook that.
